AI transparency

AI statement

Last updated: 22 October 2026

We advise on AI, so we think it matters to be open about how we use it ourselves. This statement explains where you do and don't encounter AI on this website, and how we meet the European AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689).

Are you talking to AI on this website?

No. There is no chatbot, AI assistant or other AI system on this website that communicates with you. When you email us or fill in a form, a person reads and answers your message. If we ever add a chatbot or AI assistant, you will see that clearly before you start a conversation.

The RevOps scan and the revenue leak calculator

The RevOps maturity scan and the revenue leak calculator do not use AI. They calculate in your browser with fixed, predefined rules: each answer counts for a fixed number of points and each piece of advice belongs to a fixed score range. The same answers always give the same result.

Do we use AI to make decisions about you?

No. We don't use AI to assess, profile or select visitors or leads, and we don't make automated decisions about you. Who you are and what you need is something we simply discuss with you.

Was the content of this website made with AI?

Partly. We use AI tools, such as Claude by Anthropic, to help write and translate texts, e-books and checklists, and to build this website. Everything we publish has been read, checked and where needed rewritten by Rick van der Walt, who is editorially responsible for every text on this site.

Photos of people and projects are real photos. We don't publish AI-generated or AI-manipulated images, video or audio that imitate real people, places or events (deepfakes). If we ever use an AI-generated image, for example as an illustration, we will say so next to it.

How we work with AI

  • A human in charge. AI supports our work, but a person checks the output and makes the decision.
  • AI literacy. Everyone who works with AI at Vanderwalt. understands the capabilities, limitations and risks of the tools we use (Article 4 of the AI Act).
  • Careful with data. We don't put personal data from website forms into AI tools to make judgements about you. Read how we handle your data in the privacy policy.
  • No prohibited practices. We don't build or use AI applications that the AI Act prohibits, such as manipulative techniques or emotion recognition in the workplace.

AI in client projects

When we build or implement AI for a client, for example in sales or service, we work out together which risk category the application falls into and which obligations come with it, such as transparency towards users and human oversight. The client remains responsible for how it is used; we make sure the solution makes it possible to comply.
